Kyrgyzstan is developing an active longevity programme

The Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan has submitted for public discussion a draft State Programme on Active Longevity for 2025-2030. The main goal of the document is to improve the quality of life of elderly citizens, strengthen their independence and increase healthy life expectancy. The programme also provides support for their social and psychological well-being, as well as involvement in public life.

The ministry notes that the average life expectancy in the country is now 70 years, with women living an average of 74.2 years and men 66 years. At the same time, the gender imbalance is noticeable from the age of 40, and women are almost twice as numerous among people over 80. By 2030, life expectancy is projected to increase to 69.8 years for men and 77.2 years for women.

By 2050, life expectancy is expected to rise to 73 years for men and 80.2 years for women. In this regard, the State is planning a set of measures to increase life expectancy for men and to support single elderly people in both urban and rural areas.
