    In Kyrgyzstan, employment services helped 17% more unemployed people find jobs

    Since the beginning of the year, regional offices of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration have recorded an increase in the number of citizens seeking assistance with employment issues. A total of 72,804 people, including 36,734 women, have contacted employment assistance departments.

    The main topics of the inquiries were job search, advice on labour legislation, vocational training and career guidance.

    According to the ministry, with the assistance of employment services, 7,630 people, including 4,570 women, have been employed since the beginning of the year. This is 17% more than in the same period last year.

    In addition, 5,738 people, including 2,866 women, were referred to paid public works, such as participating in the improvement of territories, repairing schools and kindergartens, and cleaning pastures and irrigation ditches. This represents a 17% increase compared to last year.

    In order to increase competitiveness in the labour market, 2,449 women and 1,375 men underwent vocational training. According to the ministry, about 62% of graduates are employed in their chosen field.

    In addition, more than 40,000 people, including both unemployed and graduates, received counselling at career guidance centres operating in Bishkek, Osh, Naryn, Talas, Karakol, Batken and other cities.
