The red deer breeding centre at the Naryn Nature Reserve has been expanded

At the Naryn State Nature Reserve, the area of the red deer breeding centre has been expanded by a further 32 hectares. The total area of the fenced-off territory now stands at 82 hectares.

The expansion of the breeding centre will create more favourable conditions for the conservation and breeding of red deer. The total area of the Naryn State Nature Reserve now stands at 112,400 hectares.

The reserve is home to 26 species of mammals, 104 species of birds, three species of fish, one species of amphibian and four species of reptiles, including the snow leopard, lynx, manul, Tien Shan brown bear, argali and red deer, all of which are listed in the Red Data Book.

The first red deer bred at the nursery were transferred to the Avletim Forestry Enterprise in the Jalal-Abad Region in 2018. At that time, nine animals were relocated there.
