Repairs to water control stations have begun in the Osh region ahead of the irrigation season

Major repairs to water control stations have begun in the Osh region as part of preparations for the irrigation season. Work is underway at key water diversion points and canals across the region and has already covered several sites.

According to the Osh Main Water Management Directorate, preparations for the growing season have intensified across the country. A range of measures is being implemented in the region to improve irrigation infrastructure and ensure more accurate monitoring of water distribution.

Three work crews from the Kurshab Operational Hydraulic Section are carrying out major repairs. They are upgrading the hydrological stations on the C-1, C-1-2 and K-3 water diversion channels, which receive water from the Otuz-Adyr Canal. The main objective is to ensure fair and efficient water distribution during the active irrigation period.

Particular attention is being paid to the introduction of modern technologies. As part of the modernisation, the hydrological stations are being equipped with automatic ultrasonic devices that allow real-time monitoring of water levels. This will ensure more accurate control of water supply and help to use water resources rationally.

At the same time, repair and restoration work is underway on the ‘Osh KSB’ and ‘Alai-lotok’ internal farm canals, which were recently transferred to the management’s responsibility. Improving their condition will ensure a stable supply of irrigation water to farmers and agricultural producers in the region.

The authorities note that the comprehensive programme of works should improve the efficiency of water resource management and ensure the successful implementation of the upcoming irrigation season.
