In the capital strengthened control over organisations performing road works

A meeting on road infrastructure development was held in the capital municipality under the chairmanship of Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev.  Representatives of contracting organisations responsible for road works were also invited to the meeting.

During the meeting, the head of the capital instructed to take control of the quality of work performed and the deadlines for delivery of objects by contractors.

«First of all, we are partners, and therefore I ask you to be more responsible for the fulfilment of tasks. All works should be accepted strictly in due time, taking into account all shortcomings. Previously, artificial delaying of deadlines and non-compliance with standards was allowed. This year, negligent attitude to road construction on the part of contractors and akimiats will not go unpunished», — stressed Aibek Junushaliyev.

The supervising deputy mayor of Bishkek city, akims of four districts, department of organisational and control work of the central office of Bishkek Mayor's Office were instructed to take control over the implementation of all tasks.

The Mayor paid special attention to the companies that committed violations. Thus, the capital municipality has formed a register of dishonest contractors of Bishkek City Hall, which will not be able to participate in future tenders.

Thanks to the new control system, the Bishkek City Hall in 2024 saved significant funds of the city budget.

«Last year we saved 415 million KGS due to the prompt approach to repairs. The works were carried out without additional costs and in due time. This year we will continue to adhere to the same tactics in work», — the mayor added.

The participants also discussed mechanisms of strengthening control over contracting organisations. Now every company that wins a tender will be obliged to prove that it has the necessary equipment and personnel, otherwise it will not be able to start work.

The municipal enterprise ‘Bishkekasfaltservis’ was instructed to take exhaustive measures when forming the list of contracting organisations to participate in the tender.
