11/13/2025, 16:39On November 13, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov took part in a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Kyrgyz national complex Manas Ordo in the Talas region.
Before the ceremony began, guests were shown a theatrical performance dedicated to the Manas epic and a video clip with the project of the renovated complex. According to the sketches, all buildings will be reconstructed, and KGS itself will be transformed into a cultural space of Central Asia, designed to accommodate up to 10,000 visitors per day.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that Manas Ordo is a sacred place symbolizing the centuries-old journey of the Kyrgyz people, their traditions, and spiritual strength.
“The reconstruction of the complex is a sign of respect for our past, a desire to preserve the sacred heritage of our ancestors and pass it on to future generations,” the president said.
He also recalled the words of Chingiz Aitmatov: “We exist because we know how to remember the past and look to the future,” noting that the epic ‘Manas’ preserves “the genetic code of the Kyrgyz people.”
The Manas Ordo complex was founded in 1976 as a literary and ethnographic museum, and since 1990 has operated as the Manas Mausoleum Museum. In 1995, to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of the epic, the facility was given a modern look. The current renovation is the most extensive in the last 30 years.
A modern congress hall, art and craft galleries, guest houses, and an administrative building will be built on its territory.
“Thanks to the renovation of this spiritual center, tourism will develop, the culture of the Kyrgyz people and the world of Manas will gain international recognition,” said the head of state.
At the end of his visit, Sadyr Zhaparov visited the Manas kumbez, where a memorial prayer was read.
