64% of all fish is supplied from Russia. The United Kingdom, Chile and Kazakhstan also supply a significant portion. This year, Kyrgyzstan began purchasing fish from Greenland, Denmark and Iceland.Whereas previously Kyrgyzstan did not purchase fish from these countries at all, now almost 20 tonnes have been imported from Iceland, 18.3 tonnes from Denmark and 10.9 tonnes from Greenland.
At the same time, imports of tropical fruits, including avocados, pineapples and mangoes, have also increased. In the first quarter of 2025, more than 6.2 thousand tonnes of such fruits were imported into the country, which is 30% more than a year earlier. The main suppliers were China (4.2 thousand tonnes) and Iran (1.8 thousand tonnes). Imports from the UAE increased sharply, from 1.7 to 47.5 tonnes. Fish and avocados are key products for those involved in sports, fitness or simply leading a healthy lifestyle. Fish is rich in easily digestible protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which help build muscle, speed up recovery and support the heart, while avocados are a source of healthy fats.
